Student Photos Featured in Der Spiegel’s S-Magazin
We’re honored to share that our students’ photographs are featured throughout the October 2025 issue of S-Magazin, the style and culture magazine from Der Spiegel!
This special issue, titled “Orte der Kindheit – Wie Erinnerungen unser Leben prägen” (Places of Childhood – How Memories Shape Our Lives), explores how the places we grow up shape who we become. From quiet lakes and mountain villages to city streets and seaside afternoons, the stories in this issue reflect on the deep connection between memory and identity - and we’re so proud that the imagery bringing those reflections to life was captured by young photographers from around the world.
Across its pages, readers will find powerful portraits and everyday scenes made by 100cameras students, ages 8-18, in communities from Colombia to South Sudan, Honduras to India, and beyond. Each image offers a new perspective - a reminder that childhood is universal, but every story is unique.
S-Magazin’s editors describe it beautifully:
“The images in this issue were photographed by children around the globe for the nonprofit 100cameras. They show the everyday life of eight- to eighteen-year-olds - often in places the rest of the world usually sees from a different perspective.”
We’re grateful to the S-Magazin team for spotlighting our students’ work and for celebrating their creativity, vision, and voice alongside stories from writers, artists, and public figures reflecting on their own childhood places.
